The Ford brand had its humble beginnings in a single man’s vision to create quality cars within the reach of the masses. The Eponymous Founder. Other than his contribution to the automobile industry, Henry Ford was also known for his pacifism during the First World War. He lent his name to an economic and social system on mass production known as “Fordism”. Stakes in Other Car Companies. Jaguar and Land Rover used to be FMC’s subsidiaries before they were sold to Tata Motors of India in 2008. Ford Mustang. The Mustang first appeared on-screen as a white convertible in “Goldfinger”. Celebrities like Jay Leno, Sonny Bono, and Cher have owned this car. Mustangs compete in races such as FIA GT3 European Championship, GT4 European Cup, and 24 Hours of Spa.
Awards. From 2007, the manufacturer of Edmonton Ford cars received more quality awards from J.D. Power and Associates than other automakers. FMC also received the 2011 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, or simply the Freedom Award which is given to employers who are deemed exceptionally supportive of their employees. In the corporate social responsibility area, “Tomorrow’s Value: The Global Reporters” rated FMC as among the top 25 CSR reporting companies in the world.
Miscellaneous. The Earth Angel award for the supplier of Edmonton Ford dealers is well-deserved. The company has produced flexible fuel vehicles, hybrid cars, and cars that use compressed natural gas, and others. The company sponsors several sports facilities and events around the U.S., such as the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
